Field Engagement Manager
Samantha Davis is the field engagement manager for YWCA USA. A strong advocate for low-income communities and people of color, Samantha most recently served as the senior advocacy and community engagement specialist at So Others Might Eat, a community-based organization that serves the poor and homeless in our nation’s capital. In her former role and leadership positions on local coalitions, Samantha’s efforts have resulted in legislative and budgetary improvements for SNAP (food stamps), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), Workforce Development, Senior Services, and affordable housing. Samantha is also the founder of The Black Swan Academy (BSA), a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a pipeline of black youth civic leaders who are committed to improving themselves and the communities in which they live.
Samantha holds a Masters of Public Policy with a concentration in social policy and poverty from American University.
