Senior Director of Capacity Building, Member Services
As senior director of capacity building, Lisa Grills leads the Capacity Building unit of the Member Services department. Directors of capacity building provide intensive support services to local associations to successfully manage moments of significant change, opportunity, growth and crisis. Lisa has served YWCA for over 14 years at the local and national level. Prior to her position at YWCA USA, Lisa served as the Executive Director of YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region. There, she accomplished a complete reorganization and relaunching to a mission-based and financially sustainable association. Lisa has a broad range of nonprofit management experience including a concentration in crisis management and problem solving as she assists local associations in realizing their goals.
Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in public administration, both from Saginaw Valley State University, and she is a recipient of the esteemed Athena Award. She lives in California.
