About Week Without Violence

Every October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, YWCA USA leads Week Without Violence (WWV), a national signature campaign that mobilizes communities to raise awareness, inspire action, and advance solutions to end gender-based violence.

In 2026, YWCA USA will shine a spotlight on a critical reality: young people are disproportionately impacted by intimate partner violence, sexual assault, grooming, and exploitation, yet their voices are often missing from conversations about prevention, healing, and systemic change. Through storytelling, education, and dialogue, Week Without Violence will create space for young people, survivors, advocates, and communities to come together to envision a future free from violence.

This year's campaign asks an essential question:

What do young people need not only to survive violence, but to heal, rebuild, and thrive?

Throughout Week Without Violence, YWCA USA will host a national virtual campaign featuring powerful storytelling, educational resources, youth-centered dialogue. Participants will gain tools to better understand the realities young people face and help create communities where everyone can feel safe, supported, and seen.

Whether you're a student, parent, educator, advocate, community leader, or ally, your voice matters.

Register today to follow the campaign, receive event updates, and access resources throughout the week.
