Asylum NPRM Comment Extension Request

We, the undersigned 502 organizations, write to urge the Departments to allow at least 60 days for public comment on the above referenced NPRM. We make this request due to the length and complexity of the 161-page rule, the critical interests it implicates, and the inherent challenges of meaningfully engaging in the public comment process during an unprecedented global pandemic. Furthermore, the substantive concerns with the rule that we raise below are solely included for the purpose of supporting this request. They do not represent the full scope of our 2 concerns, and this request should not be considered public comments pursuant to the process required under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA).
