Child Care and Early Learning FY22 Appropriations Requests to the Administration

Child care and early learning advocates greatly appreciate the attention the Biden administration has given to the needs of the child care and early learning system, both throughout last year’s campaign and in its American Rescue Plan. We hope to see the President’s proposal for an additional $40 billion in child care relief funding enacted into law in the coming weeks, along with $1 billion for Head Start, providing the early learning sector with long-needed support and stabilization. We are also grateful that President Biden has recognized that this much-needed relief is a first step on a longer road to recovery rather than an end goal in and of itself.
