Pass the Paycheck Fairness Act (S. 270)

When the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team lifted the World Cup trophy in France last summer, an entire stadium chanted “equal pay.” It was a powerful reminder of the persistence of the wage gap and pay discrimination for women in this country, who are still waiting for federal reform. As members of a broad coalition of organizations that promote economic opportunity for women and vigorous enforcement of antidiscrimination laws, we strongly urge you to co-sponsor and push for swift passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act (S. 270), a much needed update to the Equal Pay Act of 1963. The House of Representatives already passed this important legislation (H.R. 7) during the first session of Congress; now the Senate must act.
